It says so much about marriage...It speaks of surrender and trust,

possession...having and holding

I just love it, it's so sensual.

Even though they are barely touching, except for his powerful open hand holding her to himself, they are one.

I've been thinking alot about oneness...

and about trusting and surrendering

about John 17:20

"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;

that thay all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You;

that they also may be one in Us,

that the world may believe that You sent Me;

that they may be made perfect in one

and that the world may know that You have sent me,

and have loved them as You have loved Me."

The reason He wants us to be one, is that we may know love...God's love, and that others may know His love through us, thru our love.

It makes what may seem to be selfish...just for the two of us...our love, into a very public and visible expression, and not just on the wedding day...but all the days of the life together.

And that trust and surrender I so easily give to the one I love, I also have to give to the Lord.

I need to trust that He will take these things that matter to me, and that I have no power over, and accomplish His purpose in them.
