a hazy morning..."froggy"...as the kids used to say.
When they were growing up we lived near a lake.
My husband drove them to school every morning on his way to work.
On the way they crossed a bridge over the lake.
Many mornings it would be foggy...they began to play this game to determine the density of the fog by equating it with animals...the bigger the animal the denser the fog.
A little "frog"gy, a bigger "dog"gy, sometimes it was really "whaley."
I layed in bed this morning and watched the sun come in one leaf at a time.
I prayed for Warren Lee's family.
Yesterday he was behind curtain number 2 as I did my 'rounds' at the hospital.
He had come in the night before, unable to breath, with chest pain, and a history of heart problems...
I asked him how he was feeling this morning.
He began to cry.
He had just lost his first born son, his middle child, to a massive heart attack, the night before...
He was 29 years old, married with 6 and 2 year old sons.
The dad could not understand why he was still living.
He was old, with heart problems...his children were raised...
It should have been him, not his young son...
Life can change in a moment.
death
meeting the woman/man of your dreams and falling love...
life...
It will be different for every person, everyday.
We think that it's all pretty much the same for everyone...but really there is alot going on out there.
Yesterday they buried Mr. Bonnasso too. The father of 12...and all those grand kids......
AND yesterday was Amy and Vince's 8th anniversary...
All we can do is be obedient to what God puts before us...
"weep with those who weep
laught with those who laugh"
Romans 12:15
Count your blessings, live everyday as if it were your first... and last
And I thought, it's not so much the juxtaposition of life and death... as it is the simultaneousness
It's always going on at the same time...We just are aware or unaware
I don't know how doctors and nurses do it?!?
to touch all those lives, all day everyday...
whether the person is a complaining, manipulative hypochondriac
someone obesely obese
someone who has made all the wrong life choices and now looks for help with the consequences...
or someone who has done everything right their whole life and is still diagnosed with cancer...
the sweetest little geriatric
or someone wide eyed in shock at what life, mother nature, God has just dealt them.......
they show care and compassion
