thursday, friday, saturday

I know that God is good...because I live my life in a beautiful fog.

The days may seem clear, bright, sunny, summer warm...

but I know I can not see one moment in front of the other...

But God can...

and guides us though all of our days...

I went to my neices Thursday morning to see her little dance camp performance.

She had asked me to bring her 'something,' I asked her "something like flowers?!?"

and her little face lit up.
But
I forgot
I slept in and so I got a late start
and...I forgot
But God did not
Way back when she was born her parents planted her a rose bush
a namesake
She took me into her backyard after her show,
to show me yet another trick on the monkey bars...
and there were 'her' roses blooming just for her...
and she recognized it!?
They were 'her dance roses'
Her big sister has wanted to cut her hair for locks of love
but she also is performing in a little fairy show next week
and is going to be on vacation this week
so she needed to get a practice in
she thought she was going to have to wait
till she got back from vacation to get her hair cut

because I was going to take them for a sleep over
to give mom and dad a chance to catch their breath
before baby number five arrives
and
to finish all the fun things we didn't get to do
when they were here for "camp" because of the rain?!?but I told them I was in no hurry...so I hung out all day with my sister in law
who is expecting in 3 weeks
talking about the new baby, and washing new born clothes
anticipating the upcoming event
We arrived home and the guys had tacos for dinner
and all I had to do was watch the evening sun come in the front window

the next morning
the 'little guy' is up at the butt crack of dawn
but it was nice
we had time alone in the house by ourselves
and I could watch him be the baby he still is
he was fascinated with the doors

I was fascinated by his littleness

thinking of how he was going to be a big brother soon

and that just 2 years ago he was a new born?!?

My best friend says "everything can change in a moment"

and it did
We got a call from the kids parents
that their mom had gone to the hospital
they would be having their baby today
We began our day...unbeknowsnt to them...
first hiking at Hemlock Trail
one of my favorite places in the world
but not this little one's
she doesn't like the walk
the leaves touching her
the bugs
the things that might be in the water
the cold?!? of the woods
but look how clear this water is?!?

and how cute the 'things' that live in it are?!?

the boys loved it...took off the shoes...

did the explore thing and the girls warmed up?!?Elizabeth first...of course, trying to catch crawfish

and by the end of our time everyone had had a good time!
Then the big kids went to the pool and I stayed home

and cooked dinner while the littlest one took his nap
While they were at the pool

their baby sister was born

My baby got to visit with their baby before they did
We had to wait till the next morning to drive up.look at those beautiful little lips

look at that beautiful love

and look how big that little two year looks

the big brother

the big sister

her own long journey just begun

You know the secret, my friend. It's the little things that make a life.
