We have these little shoes...
all of the children wore them, but they just resurfaced after many years
It evoked memories of the little blue velvet smocked rompers I made for Domenick and Shawn for their first Christmas.
SO I began the through the house top-to-bottom search...
to no avail
I finally called my sister in law who is still having babies, if I've lent anything out, she is the one most likely to still have any baby things of value.
{like the Baptismal Gown crocheted by great grandma for Vincent}
I knew I had lent the blue velvet suit to her in the past, but she never wore it on her boys, so I was fairly sure I had it back.
But I asked anyways...and alas she did have it.
I wanted to photograph it to share with cuisle west, which I still need to do!?
Since then we discovered we are going to be grandparents...so I've been gathering baby things!
{She thought I wanted it to send for the new baby}
So when she found it, she sent alot of other little things, which I had quite honestly forgotten where even out there.
One of the forgotten things she sent were these little leather shoes.
She never wore them on her kids, so through all these years since I gave them to her, I never saw them!
We had so many pairs for all four of the kids, red ones, yellow ones, different sized ones as they grew....
I have one pair framed...and in my memory that was their first shoes.
But these are really them?!?!?
they all wore them...
Domenick wore them first, then Courey wore them, then Vinnie and then Stevie...
and now the next generation of our family will wear them...
although right now they sit on the edge of my computer table...
a tangible touch to the past
and a visible sign to this gramdma to be
What a precious little memento...she has kept safe all these years
