what a weekend
what a last two months
what a summer
what a life
Mass with Fr. Giles today, celebrating his 25th anniversary of priesthood.
Being in his inspiring presence.
Seeing the love he inspires.
Hearing him speak again.
Feeling so honoured just to be included in the festivities...
Seeing him happy!
It just does the heart good!
The ride was beautiful, with our two big kids,
through the mountains and valleys of West Virginia
just as the foliage begins to peak.
The views
The barns
The fields
The colors
The smells
the sweet citrus smell of fallen 'monkey balls'
and smell of leaves...so familiar, breathtakingly comforting
only this one time of year...
To hear Dom play the piano for the last time...for a long time
'You Raise Me Up'
I let the tears just stream down my face...
Remembering the years past when Fr. Giles was our pastor, Dom's music mentor...
Hoping for the years to come...
Futures in far away places...
Me, who photographs every bit of daily minutia
May miss some very important moments of our first born son's life to come...
Saturday night the Aunties came for a good-bye dinner, all three of them.
one from Michigan, one from Pennsylvania and one world traveler!?!?
My husband wanted to make gnocchi with his sisters...so we did...really with their kids!
What great fun, what a mess!
a nine year old, a 50 yearold, two two year old, and a seven year old's hands
What little helpers...
And what an absolutely delicious dinner it was!
Then they all went downtown to SOZO to hear him play.
He was the warm up for a group called 'Happy Maladies'
I stayed home with the sister from Michigan and put the kids to bed and watched the baby...
We had a lovely visit.
And continued our talks even after sleeping, this morning.
Then off into the woods to Giles' we went.
good night
