a week ago this evening we, the god parents and I
sat in the waiting room
wondering if we should stay
or go
we went
to return just a few hours later to his birth
last night we were all together again
and celebrated with a little something they picked up

what a treat
we each wished we had our own carton!
so for an entire week we have been deeply engaged in baby
all his little parts
his soft little head
and sweet sweet smell
his deep intelligent eyes
his cute 'big' hands...
his pretty little mouth

his little bitty clothes
just adorable...
I could go on forever...
but somehow life is going on as normal as well
the kitty still comes to visit
there's still delicious cappuchino in the morning and afternoon

there's been a little getting out

a quick ride into the the city, Heidelberg
for a few errands
one very sad errand

trying to reclaim the bike that was left chained to a tree the day before the baby was born
and only finding the CHAIN!?!?

to the market...grocerying...of course
sprite in clear bottles

the ramps... barlaügh in gnocchi
dom and I have been sent shopping two times this week...specifically...
to get toilet paper...
and have come back twice with PAPER TOWELS?!?!?
the sights have been swift and broad
a quick walk into their little town

just steps up the street from the apartment...looking east..toward their place

turning around looking west...
we haven't had the time to focus on the details and specifics...yet
but of course some things I just notice
like these little peddle-less bikes for tots
they 'ride' around on them
and learn balance
and the very next thing....they can ride a bike!?

but what need do we have to go out?

the view from their front window

going out has taken on a whole new meaning...
the sights and the sounds of the staying in
are what I am here for
the things which I've missed
and will miss again...
when I am home....

The first photo of Santino in the blue knitted blanket looks like something that could have been done by Anne Geddes. So beautiful!
