1234...our last week of summer

so I'm again on the front porch swing

catching any air that we can

he leaves for school next week
and Frank starts teaching as well

I feel like I've been sitting here all summer...
but as we sit here we begin to rethink these past few weeks
and realize we've had a birthday party every weekend
for this whole month of August???!?
and then we start to go back over this whole summer...

remembering

we get back from Germany
      it's Memorial Day...at gramp's
 and weekend one:

the end of summer
a family dinner last night
dad's spaghetti
and vinnie's peach pie

and next weekend [12]
         Aunt Micki's birthday...in D.C....
         then vinnie leaves
         college starts...
         Tebs will arrive in Perugia....

autumn will be upon us
and maybe
perchance life will slow down
just a little

Stephen called in the middle of the night last night
from a cafe that had a pay phone!
as he was having his 'morning' coffee

he sounds wonderful
walking with two locals
from Venice and Milan
says he is learning his Italian!
