sunshine in the morning....

the other day at women's group we read a quote
from St. Augustine
            "Our hearts are restless until they rest in You."

last night I could not fall asleep
conversations played themselves over and over in my head
finally I came to a place that made sense to me

but still I tossed and turned

then I prayed
and after all the thought talk in my mind
I just knew I'd have to spend just as much time
in prayer
to arrive finally at sleep

but one hopefilled little voiced prayer
a simple quiet plea of trust

and I rested in the Lord
all night long

and as I was getting ready to walk to work this morning
I caught these two at the back door
looking at the little bird willkommen wreath
we brought back from Germany

two 'birds' looking out the window

and jokingly I said "are you showing him what sunshine is?!?!"
and the momma said "yup"!!!
