"One thing I desire of the Lord...
       this alone will I seek
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
       all the days of my life
To behold the beauty of the Lord
       and to seek Him in His temple"

This is one my favorite verses
my prayer

I love the days when it surprises me and is the daily Psalm

It speaks of God
in His place, right where He should be
where I'd expect Him
and yet I long for Him
even though He is not far off..

It speaks to me of this life's purpose
of setting priorities
seeking Him first

It speaks of living this life
of home
of living
of glorifying Him
by reflecting His beauty
by seeing His beauty all around me
and by creating beauty

and it keeps the promise of eternity
living before my eyes

ahhhh

but in reality...

I ruined a tablecloth
Thanksgiving eve
all the little pumpkin and pear candles I lit at each place
burned down and created their own little puddles
all over the table

I put the tablecloth outside in the cold
to make scraping the wax off easier
but it did end up in the trash

but not without me first noticing
the beautiful frost glistening in the sun
on it the other morning....
