....been thinking about 'motives' this week...
and was so very pleased to discover
this is the week we pray this opening prayer at mass....

"Prompt our actions with Your inspiration,
   we pray, O Lord
and further them with Your constant help
that all we do may always begin with You
and by You be brought to completion"
(this year's revised Roman Missal's version)

I actually love the version that we used
prior to this year's changes...

"Lord may every thing we do
   begin with Your inspiration
   continue with Your help
and reach perfection under Your guidance"
        (the 'old' version)

I don't think we can control our motives...
they are what they are
but they can change...
...as we move through the process of doing...

my motivation and inspiration yesterday was
to create 'that little space' that I spoke of here...to work in

I took a bedroom that used to house two twin beds...
and had one little cramped corner
   for my computer...
   and drawing table
and removed the beds!

to accomplish this
a little cleaning was done...
     wiping floors, dusting, decluttering
a little exercise was had...
carrying beds...and beyond...up to the attic
     recycling down to the basement
          [that's the next thing
            that needs to be tackled...]
and a little computering was done...
as the wedding invitations I've been working on
printed out as I worked...

In the process
I found a mandolin! under the bed in the attic?!!
    whose owner thought was here...
but I did not have the slightest clue where?!?!
I created a lovely pile of things to return
and found things that I had long ago forgotten
that needed tending to...
all things that I spent a little time
     doing errands with today!

what a wonderful feeling

I haven't created a thing yet...
but I definitely feel like the way is being prepared!

What a wonderful prayer. I think I prefer the older version, too.

Your home looks so serene.
