in my husband's morning music
a voice from far away
Flow gently, sweet Afton, among thy green braes
Flow gently, I'll sing thee a song in thy praise

seeing
fresh from yesterday's breakfast
roses of a wedding
three years past
celebrated this week

an afternoon in my favorite corner
pulling the nap blanket
up to my chin

the same little blanket from the day they came by
last year
after their first week as husband and wife

the touch of her hand on the softness of her bouquet

the touch of good-bye fresh on my check

glorious cool evenings
bring good nights for sleeping
snuggled down under
the familiar weight of big blue
and the beginning of memories
that come
again too
"I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear
but now
my eye sees You."
