the moon outside of where I work...

so
all this wonderful warm weather this week
has brought so many moments to savour

yesterday
lunch with my girl at an outdoor cafe
and then a stroll down the street
to sit and enjoy a long lingering coffee
we watched people out and about
we googeled at babies in strollers
and talked about dreamers and romantics

then the bim rode his fixie over
to meet with us
and we jaunted over to the market district
and bought the ingredients for pumpkin soup
white truffle butter
honey crisps
hot chocolate mix
and a pomegranate

tonight
my husband and I stopped at the cold stone
on the way home from church
and again
sat at a sidewalk table
eating our ice cream
watching the students begin their weekend

but tonight I saw something I've never seen before

a couple crosses the street
running towards us
dressed up in some pre-halloween costume
viking helmets
plastic axes

and as they pass
where we are sitting
he lifts his loin cloth
the only item of clothing he's wearing
other than the horned helmet
and reveals
nothing underneath!?!?!
