a blanketed morning nap on the beach in the sand
windy and loud as the tide comes back in
I wake suddenly to a baby crying over my shoulder
I turn to look
surprised that it's a gull
I have never heard one make that sound
but what I see in the sky as he passes
is the triangle of the trinity
with a dove
descending
