my love and my life

Sunday we took the tree down because we knew there was to be no lifting after tomorrow...caught this reflection in a photo of us that hung on the wall behind it

yesterday we had the second of our two trips to the general hospital scheduled during his winter break from teaching
just routine procedures; out patient
so they say
as they read you the list of risks and then ask you to sign the consent form
death, heart attack, paralysis, brain damage...
he signs and I sit and wait
the first 45 minutes are the procedure
no problem waiting thru that
then the doctor comes out and talks about how well it went...
phew...of course...despite all the risks, it went well
then the time in the recovery to wake from the anesthesia
and then the call back to the post op where I can sit with him
but something seems to be taking too long in that recovery phase
I can't concentrate on my book
has something gone wrong
will he ever wake up again!??!
has he gone into a comma
a little worry sets in...
I should just know!
he loves to sleep.....
what seemed like too long to me
was him squeezing in an extra little nap time!
I finally get the call to go back
and we are united again
a few more hours of trying to wake up
and I get to take him home
the Lord sees fit for us to have at least a few more days of our life...together
