in Revelation 2:4 Christ says
" I have this against you
that you have left your first love...."
I never want to hear those words
from my first love...
we love
because
He first loved us...
1 John 4:19
God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8
so every mornning as first as I can
I pray
as I wake in my bed
I commit my hands my eyes my day to my Lord
as I wash
I read His words
in one of my favorite spots
that corner of the sofa
or this swing.....
I don't know if that's exactly what He means by first....
[some people do their daily reading at night]
[more in the Judeo tradition...
the next day begins as this one ends]
maybe He means before everything is done...
all day
everyday
think of Him, pray...first
make sure it's done... in 'love'...in Him
oh how I long to live that conscience and holy of a life
but until I know otherwise
until I can do otherwise
this part of my day...
is my first part
and if/as I loose it throughout the day
at least this first part is kept holy
all I need are those words
that the Spirit places in my heart
"prayer"
those words that the Spirit
gives us in His living word
my cappuchino
my camera
my computer....
and you see how quickly that first love
gets pushed into second and third and later place.....
if I could only stay on my porch swing
and pray all day...
but the Lord has given me lives that touch mine
a husband
this week...the blessing of my brother
yesterday...the laundry room to clean
so the brother can repair the leak, hopefully
and a friend home for a time...
to meet for coffee and share our women talk
and today...a picnic at the rapids....
all the blessings
of the day
of the Lord
blessing number four...
in the twilight sun at the end of the day....
I wanted there to be one more photo at the end of this post
We went to bed way after midnight last night
and after our 'today story'
as I lay in bed listening to my husband's sleep
I watched "Santino's moon"
fading in and out behind the pine trees
and the clouds
but it was too overcast
to gather enough light to capture the moment
in my camera's lense
maybe tonight!
for as I lay there watching the midnight moon
the sun was rising over our far away family...
waking little Santino blue moon for his first morning feeding
on the anniversary
of his second month of being born!
such a blessing....
