instead of opening any cans

this afternoon it begins
we will bring in the little pie pumpkins
that have been adorning our front steps for the last month
and cut and bake them
and somehow turn them into pies?!?!?
and then we'll peel our pile of sweet potatoes
and boil and make them into a casserole
