snow fell, a star fell, two teeth fell...and all wore purple

we drove thru the night
to Alpha...
the beginning
to be present at the end

I saw a falling star on the way...
I can't remember the last time I saw a falling star

we had to pull over to take a couple calls
from our son traveling home from Italy
eight inches of snow
missed connections
cancelled flights
another 24 hours added to his 36 hour trip home.......

Saturday morning we woke to bright sunshine
squirreling its way in
under the tightly drawn curtains of our hotel
a whirlwind day
everyone in purple
from the youngest ones
to the church ladies serving the luncheon!


I did this thing I've never done before
I took pictures at a funeral?!?

she always wanted pictures
'send me the pictures'
she'd say
and she noticed when you didn't
and had no compassion for forgetting!
