twenty-eight years
there was a wedding
where now there is a marriage
he gives me roses to celebrate that day...
"did you see my roses?"
these 28 years have gone quickly
our babies come and go now
there's even been a grandbaby that came for a little while
music returned to our home
and little additions added to some of my favorite places...
and new favorite places added to our same old same old
I'm grateful for the coming and the going
and every gift everyone brings
these little ones will soon be big
and the coming and going will continue
how quickly the years have passed
from cutting their meat
to them grilling the meat!
and these next 28 years will pass swiftly too
and soon before we know it
we'll be 80
and the coming and going will be to and from this sweet little place....
