one of my first memories here
is waking on our first Sunday
and watching our youngest begin his new paper route!
living in 'town'
allowed him to finally fulfill his childhood dream
of being a paper boy
it was the summer before he entered high school

In my mind that wasn't so long ago
the way I see him today is how my mind remembers him...
but oh how young he was...
oh how he has grown and changed...
he has accomplished so many of his dreams
already
in his young life
who knows what dreams he will follow next...

yesterday he opened the tip jar he's been saving for a year!

I see myself as I was eight years ago too
have I taken advantage of the opportunities to fulfill dreams?
have I grown and changed?
or just aged?
I see more
light falling
where it falls
but haven't I always felt that?!?!

light in our kitchen
changing as clouds pass by
illuminating moments
sweet little peaks of life
light falling
where it falls
after eight years of enjoying the simple luxury
of watching the falling light of the fourth
from our very own front porch
never having to fight traffic
or haul chairs
and mosquito repellent
another change was discovered last night
which we never noticed before?!?!
light falling
where it falls
'the bombs bursting in air'
can be seen...
without even leaving the comfort
of my very favorite corner of the sofa

light falling
where it falls
we do not look at the things which are seen
but at the things which are not seen
For the things which are seen are temporary
but the things which are not seen are eternal
1 Corinthians 1:18
