and again...the brokenness
the woman accused of adultery
it was not the sin that broke her
she was already broken
she knew full well that to be caught in adultery she would be stoned...to death
that was the price of the sin
and yet
she sinned
willing to pay the price...for a moment
of sheer pleasure?!?!
or of comfort and security, warmth, connection with another
oh how great our neediness
our emptiness
that we risk our very lives, sacrifice our selves
for a moment
when the ultimate sacrifice has been given for us
to us
in the life of Jesus laid down
the ultimate love expressed
our longing for belonging is fulfilled in Him
our safety secured in Him
our emptiness, neediness, poverty filled in Him
