Untitled
this afternoon
I kick off my shoes sway on my swing in the sun

but this morning a funeral for a father of six
the oldest 20 the youngest 9

the priest spoke of 'gratitude'
of how sad we are
but how thankful we are
that we were given such a gift
and now it was the time of offering of returning the gift we were given
to the One who has given

"by Your goodness we have received this offering..."
"what do you have that you did not receive?"
         1 Corinthians 4:6

I have received much

I have given nothing
my life is full

my hands
my heart

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory,
my understanding,
and my entire will,
all that I have and possess.
You gave it all to me;
to you, Lord, I give it all back.
All is yours,
dispose of it entirely according to your will.
Give me the grace to love you,
for that is enough for me.
       Iganatius

offer your bodies as a living sacrifice
holy and pleasing to God
your spiritual worship

do not conform yourselves to this age
but be transformed by the renewal of your mind
that you may discern what is the will of God
what is good
and pleasing
and perfect
                      Romans 12:1-2
